When a 12-year-old boy moves to the city with his family he is forced to put his pet mountain lion in the zoo. The sympathetic zoo director gives the boy a job so he can be close to his pet, but the boy takes drastic measures when he sees the shabby conditions at the zoo.

Flipper: Sandy is distraught when, having saved Flipper's life by pulling out a spear, his father insists the dolphin be released. Flipper's new adventure: Sandy sets out with his finned friend to find a new home after the boy hears plans to place the dolphin in the Miami Seaquarium. Their risky trek takes them to a remote isle and sets the stage for a heroic rescue of a castaway family.
